"The Duck" is Back in Stock

Last weekend we went out to look for duck flowers and to our surprise,  we found a few in bloom. These flowers are highly sought-after for detoxification, as heralded and praised by Honduran herbalist  Dr. Sebi, and we are pleased to have them back in stock.

When you order, you will be receiving a DRIED duck flower.  Like all our herbal products, flowers are dried before sending, and therefore their size has greatly decreased from when they were in bloom. The active ingredients of the flower, however are still intact. We also have "duck flower powder" which is simply the dried flower ground up into powder". Duck flower leaves and duck leaf powder are in stock as well.

We get questions sometimes about what to expect from taking the duck. First off, it's your responsibility to seek the advice of medical professionals for any heath concerns. All we will say, is like the ingestion of  most herbal products, reactions vary,

A lot  will depend on your diet at the time. If you are fasting from all food or on a juice fast or strict raw/vegan eating regimen and you ingest "the duck" then your reactions tend to be more pronounced than if you are eating a "regular" diet. . But extreme reactions don't necessarily mean that you aren't detoxing. Some people don’t have any detox symptoms and feel fine. Other people  experience different bathroom habits--frequent urination, loose stools and/or constipation. Also gas and/or bloating, strong body odor, swollen lymph nodes, nausea and/or vomiting, mood swings, headaches and fatigue.

I, personally, prefer a gentler cleanse so I take the duck flower powder in small amounts here and there and it provides an edge that's not too extreme, and works for me.

Duck Tales

Two weekends ago we went to the jungle to look for duck flowers and we got incredibly lucky to find a few. Duck flowers also, know as "the duck," are the beautiful, magnificent flowers  occasionally ingested to detoxify the body. They are famously used at Honduran herbalist Dr. Sebi's "Usha Village" in Honduras for that purpose, but the plant is found throughout Central America, particularly the jungles where we often wildcraft. But they can be incredibly hard to locate and are a very rare find, even when you know where to look.

Dr. Sebi, who calls the flowers "a very immediate and strong cleanser" talks about his experience  ingesting "the duck" in this video. He mentions that  he liked to collect "the ducks" and dry them and make duck flower powder from the dried flowers to create an herbal compound with it consisting of the duck flower, guaco, sarsasparilla and cordoncillo negro. We currently have both duck flower powder and guaco in stock. Cordoncillo negro is coming soon. We will also have more duck flower leaves too.

No sooner had we told a few people we had a few ducks, we got offers to buy and so before we had time to make an announcement about our ducks, they have now sold out! We do have a small amount of duck flower powder left and we will be going out to look for more "ducks," soon and will update the website when more arrive.. Wish us luck!

Sour Sop leaves: New Haul

This past weekend we went out and harvested some sour sop leaves and they are now drying (see photo) in preparation to be mailed out.

Sour sop is one of the very best things to consume on a daily basis because it keeps you cancer and parasite free. It also normalizes blood pressure and blood sugar levels. It tastes like green tea and has no side effects at all. It's safe to consume for long periods of time and provides a bevy of nutrients. It's even safe for children and breastfeeding mothers.

In addition to the leaves we also have powder, tea bags and capsules. If you're treating a serious condition like cancer, high blood pressure or diabetes, we suggest the capsules and the powder to make sure you're getting all of the plant's constituents. For maintenance of health, boiling the leaves or steeping the tea bags is fine.

Kalawalla leaves vs. Kalawalla roots

We got a call from a customer asking us to clarify if our kalawalla powder is made from the leaves or from the roots. It's interesting that the question would come in now. Until recently we only carried the roots and yes our powder is 100% kalawalla roots--no leaves or other filler. The Mayans use the roots or more accurately the rhizomes for medicinal purposes, and the caller mentioned that the roots, specifically helped with his Crohn's disease, which is an autoimmune disorder. This plant is pretty amazing. The roots are considered to be more potent than the leaves. But we have the leaves too and they are used to make medicinal tea just like the roots, Our newly-harvested kalawalla leaves have completed the drying process (see photo above) and are ready to order and ship directly to you. And we'd love to hear from you. Call us at 305-668-0360 and if we don't answer, leave a message as we're probably out wildcrafting. Cheers!

We commune with lizards. Lizards are everywhere in Belize and it's almost impossible to keep them out. And they make the most delightful cackling noise,  like laughing. This one doesn't even run from me anymore he just sits there while I look at him. He knows I'm talking about him too. Ha ha.
